Parameters and events
Power profiles and average values answer different questions from voltage-dip, transient or waveform recordings. The system must capture the relevant phenomenon with sufficient detail.
ONGOING MONITORING
Monitoring provides evidence for decisions and for checking what changes after an intervention. Locations, parameters and resolution are selected according to the technical question.
Power profiles and average values answer different questions from voltage-dip, transient or waveform recordings. The system must capture the relevant phenomenon with sufficient detail.
Before-and-after comparisons consider load, network configuration and operating conditions. A reduction in one index alone does not demonstrate that a malfunction has been resolved.
Time synchronisation, data access, thresholds and alarms should support correlation with installation logs. For high frequencies, the bandwidth of the full measurement chain needs explicit checking.
Definition of the architecture, support with instrument selection, interpretation of recordings and verification criteria. Monitoring supports decisions; mitigation requires the appropriate intervention.
General guidance by solution type, using a 400 V low-voltage supply as reference. Ranges summarise the ratings considered and do not imply that all combinations are available. Connection, rating and actual performance must be checked for the project.
| Configuration | Ratings and supply | Features | Checks required |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profile monitoring | Reference supply 400 V; CTs selected for measured currents | Electrical parameters, profiles and alarms | Measurement points, class and synchronisation |
| Event analysis | Reference supply 400 V; inputs and sensors to be checked | Voltage dips, overvoltages and waveforms | Class, resolution, triggers and memory |
| Fast-transient capture | Reference supply 400 V; dedicated measurement chain | High-speed event acquisition | Bandwidth, sampling, sensors and event conditions |
Measurement class, standard edition and functions depend on model and firmware. Fast transient capture does not equal continuous spectral measurement of the full supraharmonic range.
